Monash University Swim Club Finalists in National Australian Unity Go Club 2007 Awards.
Monash University Swim Club has quadrupled its membership in the last year, and all members participate in a large number of events, be that from encouragement awards for ages 7-10, or State and National qualifying times.
Monash University Swim Club has a full committee committed to the ongoing success and promotion of the club. The administration of the club is focused on the ongoing achievement of the club and the greater promotion of swimming as a sport.
Monash University Swimming Club has been an active supporter of all clubs events as well as running two swimming events of its own in 2007. Monash Swim Club actively promotes participation and has high involvement by its members. In 2007, as well as running a trivia night, the club has participated in a number of events in Warnambool, Eaglehawk (Bendigo), Portsea Swim Classic, the Victorian State Open Water championships at Hazelwood, as well as a weeks visit to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
Monash University Swim Club have three Swimming Victoria qualified coaches.
- Head Coach Ross Price is one of the coaches of the Target 2008 Development Squad.
- Joel Tay is one of the coaches of the Junior Development Squad 2007/08.
Monash University Swim Club is an active in promoting its brand through the participation of its swimmers in other clubs events, the running of two swimming events. In addition, Monash has offered a number of swimming scholarships in 2007.
In the broader community, Monash promotes itself via the website, the use of local print media and is an active fundraiser in the community. This marketing and promotion has enabled Monash to procure sponsorship for which the club is extremely grateful.
